Cheung’s job responsibility is to research, analyze and provide data-backed insights on the digital economy—including advertising, ecommerce, social media and emerging technologies—in Asia-Pacific, with a focus on China and Japan. Cheung was born in Hong Kong and has lived in different parts of East Asia and North America. He is multilingual in Cantonese, English, Japanese and Mandarin. Prior to joining EMARKETER, Cheung worked in the public sector for the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) in the field of international business development. He majored in marketing, minored in Japanese and holds an MBA in International Business from Baruch College.
